Head Teacher's Welcome

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to St Mary’s Primary School, Prestwich.

Situated in the heart of Prestwich village, we were originally the Parish School (founded in the mid1800s). We are a Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary School and we continue to retain a strong presence within the parish as well as having strong and successful links with St. Mary’s Parish Church.

We are proud of our school, our children and their achievements.

We are an open, friendly and inclusive school, offering a Christian education to all boys and girls between the ages of 3 and 11 years. St Mary’s can admit up to 30 pupils in each age group (Reception to Year 6). We pride ourselves for the ‘family feel’ to our school; where we respect, value and work hard together and for each other.

Our whole school community values the contribution that each child brings to our school; which makes our school a happy and harmonious place to learn and work. Our motto is: ‘Love learning, Love each other’ and this sentiment underpins all that we do at St Mary’s.
